How do you like to celebrate America’s birthday? Grilling with the family and watching fireworks are great activities, but how about a two-day party with friends and neighbors? The Zanesville Jaycees have you covered!
If you’re looking for the best 4th of July celebration near Thornville and Cambridge, stop by the annual 4th of July Stars and Stripes on The River festival.
The event kicks off at 6 PM on Tuesday, July 3 when the A2J Dance Crew takes the stage, followed by the Old Dirty Strangers Band. You can enjoy live music while checking out the following local vendors:
The following day, get started early when vendors open again at noon. There will be a color guard procession followed by a performance from the Melissa Marie School of Dance, and later the annual fireworks display.
Throughout both days of the festival, there will be plenty of food trucks from local favorites like Shaffer’s Grill, Bobst Kettle Corn, Paddy Wagon, and Pucky’s Pit Stop.
All this fun and great work towards helping the community can be found on the beautiful banks of the Muskingum River.
Historic Zane’s Landing Park, home to the eternal flame dedicated to Medal of Honor recipients, is proud to host this celebration of the founding of our country.
Downtown parking will be available from 2nd street to the Secrest Auditorium on 4th street.
While there will be food trucks with small bites and handheld items, sometimes you need to fuel up for a big day or recharge with a big, hearty meal.
You’ll find delicious dishes for the whole family less than three blocks from the park at the historic Old Market House Inn.
For generations, this staple of downtown Zanesville has been serving American classics like steaks and burgers to locals and tourists. This 4th of July, enjoy a plate of USDA choice meat or get one of Adornetto’s award-winning pizzas for the table.
Since 1920, the Zanesville Jaycees have worked to develop qualities of a leader in members of the community and perform charity work both locally around the world. They’ve contributed to causes such as the March of Dimes, and they’ve even built housing for the elderly and playgrounds for the local youth.
They are excited to once again be putting on this annual festival for the Zanesville community to celebrate America.
