The 2018 Polaris Ranger offers three notable options for you to consider, depending on your needs. The Ranger comes in a compact 2-seater, a spacious 3-seater, and a crew seater that offers comfortable seating for 4-6 passengers. Each of these vehicles vary in their performance and abilities, so be sure to learn the capabilities before making your final decision.
There are plenty of engine options when it comes to picking out your Ranger. The two seater can hit a maximum horsepower of 44 when it’s equipped with the ProStar® 567cc 4-stroke single-cylinder engine, however, this model also offers an electric engine that tops off at 30 horsepower. The three seater offers several notable engine options, including a diesel engine that maxes out at 24 horsepower. However, if you’re looking for some pretty significant abilities, the ProStar® 999cc 4-stroke twin cylinder delivers the most with 82 horsepower and it comes standard with an engine braking system and active descent control.
The Polaris Ranger Crew also comes with an assortment of engine options to choose from. The Ranger Crew® XP 1000 EPS features the same ProStar® 999cc twin cylinder as the 3-seater options. However, due to the additional passenger capacity, the output drops to 80 horsepower.
Each of the model variations offered by the Polaris Ranger yield different abilities. The 2-seater, which has a ground clearance of 10 inches, can carry 1,000 lbs of payload (500 lbs in cargo box) and tow 1,500 lbs. The 3-seater, when equipped with the high-output engine, has an 1000 lbs box capacity, bringing the vehicle’s total payload capacity to 1,500 lbs. This models towing capacity ranges from 2,000 lbs to 2,500 lbs depending on the engine you choose.
The Ranger 3-seater has some impressive abilities. Its payload capacity is at 1,750 lbs, with 1,000 lbs of that as the box capacity. The three-seater also has the ability to tow 2,000 lbs.
